Cherry Knowle Lunatic Asylum was built in 1895 in Ryhope, near Sunderland. Situated on a partly active hospital site, Cherry Knowle is a sight to behold. Inside, there is still alot of history still left lying around which even the graffiti "artists" have been respectful enough to leave alone. Noteable features include the swimming pool, chapel, main hall, kitchens, the patient's art room and some very impressive corridors. Back to Hospitals & Asylums
