Crossley Hospital East is situated close to Chester and was opened in 1905 as a TB hospital. It later became a home for the elderly, followed by a brief stint as a mental hospital and then finished off as a boarding school until it closed in 1993. Since then Crossley Hospital East has sat empty. Now it is under development to be turned into flats. Notable features include the morgue with the lovely red windows, the hall and the extremely old jar of pickled beetroot, it's there if anyone is hungry I suppose. Back to Hospitals & Asylums
